Our Founder's Story

Turning Memories into Legacies with Purpose and Innovation

Kinstak was born out of a mission to solve a universal problem: preserving memories and stories in an increasingly digital world. For our founder, Carolyn Eagen, this mission is deeply personal.
Growing up as an adoptee, Carolyn often wondered about her family history. Her adopted mother, Major Joan M. Wells, MM (ret.) US Air Force, was an extraordinary leader who paved the way for women in the military. Joan’s life and career inspired Carolyn in countless ways, but when Joan passed away unexpectedly in 1999, many of her stories were lost forever. Carolyn was just 24 years old at the time and realized there had to be a better way to preserve and share family legacies.
Now a mother herself, Carolyn’s passion for safeguarding memories and building digital legacies took shape as Kinstak. Combining her background in Big Data and Analytics with her personal experience, she created an AI-powered platform to help families, small businesses, and non-profits organize and protect their digital lives.
With Carolyn at the helm, Kinstak continues to grow as a platform dedicated to connection, legacy, and innovation—a tribute to the stories that shape who we are.
